Year 3 students in Room 23 visited our school beehive.  On the way there, they saw that many apples from our apple tree were falling on the ground, rotting and being wasted.  They decided to write letters to the Year 5/6 students in Room 3 who are learning about this area of our school.  In their letter, they came up with over 10 recommendations of what we could do to solve this problem.  One of the ideas was to pick the apples and give them to different classes.  Room 3 decided to do this and they gave all the apples left on the tree to Room 23 to enjoy.  Great sustainable problem solving and team work.

Our students are once again showing their commitment to sustainability.  The student Living Room Specialist Group had their first meeting today.  We welcomed our students from last year and our new Year 5 students this year to our breakfast meeting.  They were very eager to help with the maintenance tasks around the Living Room as we take responsibility for these ourselves and we don't have a cleaner.  We also presented the updated Living Room Manual to Mr Mossop to share with the Board of Trustees.  They can see our progress, monitor the tasks they are able to help us with and be sure we will pass on the history of this great project to our peers.
